Mike Bara to speak at 2008 Roswell UFO Conference

Dark Mission co-author Michael Bara will be speaking at the 2008 Roswell UFO Conference in Roswell New Mexico. The subject of his talk on Sunday, July 6th will be “The Secret History of NASA” and will include many new subjects not covered in the book.

The web site for the conference is here.

William Shatner Hints He's Been Told Something About Mars

During a recent free wheeling interview with TrekMovie.com, actor William Shatner (Captain James T. Kirk of the original Star Trek series) hinted that he's been told "something" about Mars. Responding to a question about whether he believes that there is life on other planets, Shatner said:

"I will let you in on a little secret, that I have been told not to reveal. So I wont reveal who told me, but there is going to be new information about Mars. It wont be too long away."

Presumably, Shatner was told by someone inside NASA. As to exactly what he was told, it also presumably has something to do with life on the Red Planet, since that is the context of the question he was responding to.

Perhaps Dr. Gil Levin will get long overdue credit for the positive results of 1976 Labeled Release Experiment.

Updated Dark Mission.net

Just a note to let you know that I updated Dark Mission.net today. I added the books endnotes (which a lot of people have requested since they were printed so small in the the book) and updated the errata page.

Go to www.darkmission.net to see the changes.

I Feel Like Roy Batty

Every time I visit Richard, I feel like the character in the movie Blade Runner, when he looks around JF Sebastian's apartment and says "gee you've got a lot of cool stuff."

Richard has more cool stuff than anybody I know. The picture above is the same plate he so memorably used on CNN in the mid-90's. There is a screen cap of it on the front page of enterprisemission.com, I think.

We had a late night conference call with Joeseph Farrell last night, and Richard showed me some new images he's been hoarding. All I can say is this next installment of DM is going to be full of "cool stuff."

More pics below.

Outline Completed

Well, after a long afternoon session of brainstorming, we've hashed out a crude outline for the next book (and maybe Dark Mission III as well). Now it's my job to put it into a coherent outline and chapter structure.

Why do I always get stuck with the grunt work?

Hopefully later we'll be conference calling with Joe Farrell about his role in the new project.

More later.

Up and Around in Albuquerque

After a good nights sleep we're up and around here. Looking forward to a full day of work, including a visit to Richard's cavernous video vault. We watched the season premiere of Battlestar Galactica last night on Richard's 1080p big screen. It was pretty spectacular. I love how he uses the old state of the art TV as a stand for the new SOTA technology.

I'm sure there's a Cylon metaphor in there somewhere.

More later,

Mike

Blogging From Albuquerque This Weekend

Yes, I'm finally making the pilgrimage to Albuquerque this weekend (April 4th, 5th and 6th) so Richard and I can start game planning the sequel to "Dark Mission." As I have said before, there's a lot of stuff that didn't make it into the book, and we'll be going over all of that again as well as gobs of new material. The challenge is really to decide what to include and what to exclude, since we have so much and could take the next project in so many different directions.

I'll try to update once or twice a day over the weekend and include some pictures.
